lovely riverside retreat

attentive staff garden room ample parking comfortable bar
I found the staff to be very attentive. They really added a personal touch. the garden room, located close to the river, was a nice feature. parking was easy. There was plenty of space available nearby. i also appreciated the comfortable bar area after dinner.
the room was a bit too warm for my liking.

warm staff special breakfast garden doors
the staff were so warm, a real delight. breakfast felt special, like a dream. our double room patio had doors opening to the garden, such beauty. the fresh air and birdsong was such a pleasure to enjoy in that quiet space.
the dinner menu felt expensive and offered fewer options than i had hoped for.

Riverside retreat, A good stay

warmth reception nature view
the location near the river provided opportunities for walks. The team welcomed me warmly from arrival onward. breakfast included beautifully presented dishes. My room overlooked the gardens, so i enjoyed a nature view.
i noticed significant dust along the top of the wardrobe decorative feature. this maintenance issue meant the hotel was not quite up to the mark.

the room had french doors leading to a lovely seating area. the bed was very comfortable and spacious. i enjoyed the garden access from the room. the setting offered a peaceful and tranquil atmosphere.
i thought the dinner menu wasn't fully to my personal liking.

The chef prepared real porridge for me during breakfast. The hotel sold a great cook book by the chef. I found the presentation of foods and wines fine. The dinner price of £60 for two courses seemed a worthwhile value.

the staff was very attentive and helpful. the breakfast had fresh ingredients. the presentation was also perfect.
The room was too hot. I had to sleep with the patio door ajar! the road noise kept me awake. this spoiled my stay.
