the staff was friendly enough, i will give them that.
The room i booked, a double room private bathroom, felt quite dated. The shower barely worked. ordering breakfast the night before felt inconvenient. I got only one slice of toast with it, odd. the gardens looked neglected, which did not make a good impression.

i found the full english breakfast delicious. it included black pudding, great. dinner there is a must. it's located off the beaten track and the drive itself is part of the experience. i really appreciated how quickly they contacted me when i left my kindle behind. they called my phone immediately, so i could turn back to get it.
The shower was not powerful. It could use an upgrade.

the room was very clean and inviting. it had a kinda warm temperature in both the room and the bathroom. i found everything spotlessly clean and well-kept.

the breakfast provided a generous selection, ensuring everyone found something they enjoyed. i thought the sunday roast was delicious. the staff served it with wonderful friendliness and attentiveness, very pleasing.

The owners and staff are very friendly and accommodating. the manager checked to make sure all was well during the meal. i appreciated their helpfulness. They always made sure i had everything i needed!

I found the staff very friendly. Their welcome on arrival was nice. The food was good, though the Beef Wellington had tough spots. The inn has interesting history, especially its Civil War connections. The staff displayed this history well.
The toilet cleanliness upon arrival was not ideal, though I must say this was adressed promptly. I would have preferred knowing the room was dog-friendly with no window. I might not have booked otherwise.
