waterside stay

beautiful gardenundercover storageexpensive restaurant
the garden offered a beautiful setting beside the canal with narrow boats. undercover storage for bikes was available and appreciated. the room was clean and tidy with furniture that suited the historic style.
I found the restaurant expensive for both drinks and food. This limited our enjoyment.
Dining

the breakfast included a lovely veggie option. the coffee in the morning was great. the food tasted delicious and the portions were of a sufficient size, but the evening menu felt pricey.

An Okay Stay with Some Issues

friendly staffmusty odorlimited breakfast buffet
The staff seemed friendly enough.
The room had a distinct musty odor, definitely not a selling point. the promised river view was largely obscured by overgrown trees. I mean, what's the point then. The breakfast buffet was somewhat limited. I'm used to having a wider selection of pastries, cereals and yogurts, but perhaps my expectations were too high?
