The staff were friendly. The room was quiet and very clean.
There was a problem with dampness in the bathroom. The water-damaged wood paneling was exposed on the bath. It looked pretty bad.

My stay spanned several nights. Staff members were helpful with my slightly early breakfast request. The new chef created a limited, delicious menu. Perhaps a special or two could be added later.. Ann provided a cheery welcome and great service, as I had experienced previously. Young Zoe appears an excellent addition to the waiting staff.
The limited availability of some menu items was a very minor drawback, though understandable.

the staff provided friendly conversation. fresh flowers decorated the tables during breakfast. i found the room comfortable with everything i needed. i really enjoyed the delicious breakfast (the choice was excellent!). the inn has been tastefully updated. the bar felt cosy, awesome for easy chat with staff and locals. i decided to have dinner and it was a great decision, the chef was amazing. the breakfast had great quality food.
the bathroom had a little damp with exposed water damaged wood panelling on the bath.

the location supports coastal walking, a great amenity. st andrews is not far. there is a fine award winning beach within walking distance. this provides an ideal opportunity who enjoy the outdoors.
