Mixed feelings about this hotel
quick dipparking problemcold halibut
the pool was perfect for a quick dip.
parking was a problem, i couldn't find a spot on site. i had to park across the road on the corner (it wasn't ideal). the halibut was cold in the middle, i definitely don't like cold fish.

the staff greeted me warmly upon arrival. i found a welcome basket with towels and slippers prepared for the swimming pool, which i thought was a very nice touch. the lounge had a log burner adding a lovely, relaxing ambience to the space. the team seemed experts on local attractions, ready with recommendations.
The newspaper selection available was somewhat limited. I would have preferred a wider variety of national publications..

the hotel is near several attractions, including castle howard and fountain's abbey, each within a reasonable driving distance. the surrounding area offers a peaceful retreat.. it's certainly an ideal spot for exploring north yorkshire.
