Mixed Feelings About My Stay
poorly stocked barunlit fire pit
I found the honesty bar poorly stocked. There was only one liqueur option, Baileys. The fire pit in the garden was not lit during the evening. I would have sat there with drinks. the chairs were all packed away before mid-October. This limited options for evening relaxation.

My room was the Standard King Room and it was very clean. The bathroom had all necessary toiletries. I found a bottle of chilled champagne and chocolates upon arrival.
The honesty bar had a very limited selection of beverages.

fabulous stay!!!
clean roomunderfloor heatinggenerous shower
my room was wonderful and very clean. the suite was large and had underfloor heating. a generous walk-in drop shower. a lovely selection of teas, fresh milk, and toiletries were provided. champagne on arrival in the great hall was a lovely start, especially sitting by the fire.
the fire pit in the garden wasn't lit in the evening. i would have liked to sit and have drinks, but it was all closed up.

Staff members are friendly and cute, always happy to chat about the building's past. This added a personal touch. the breakfast service was of the highest quality and very attentive. it was perfect throughout!

The building itself is nice and full of history. the great hall has a large christmas tree. the complimentary afternoon tea was a chance to absorb the atmosphere. I really valued that moment.
