amazing and quirky hotel stay
historic buildings golf buggy
i loved the low rise historic buildings with plenty of character but modern conveniences. i could easily get lost in the maze of buildings. a driver from reception returned me to my building in the golf buggy if needed. the pool at the sister hotel was lovely!

romantic getaway in a heritage setting
good air conditioning warm staff authentic touch comfortable bed
i found the room had good air conditioning it was very welcome the breakfast amazed me the staff were warm it felt authentic. the staff were attentive and helpful i felt very welcome there it. the authentic touches to the decor were lovely everything felt very elegant the buggy service was super helpful it made getting around easy. the location was amazing the room was cool i loved the balcony the bed was one of the most comfortable i've slept in.

dishonest staff aggressive sales tactics
the location was acceptable, inside the souk. it made exploring the area convenient.
the reception desk staff seemed dishonest. i booked a city-view room but they offered a creek-view without clarifying it was a paid upgrade. i only found out about the extra 330aed charge later and felt scammed, their pleasant tone seemed like a business tactic. the shops nearby aggressively tried to sell things, it made walking around uncomfortable.

authentic vibe friendly staff convenient shops
the hotel provided an authentic arabian vibe. all staff members were helpful and polite, they helped us with our luggage and with the car! the location was perfect, with shops conveniently located underneath the hotel.
The lighting in the room was very dim, also in the bathroom. The pictures in the room included people and animals, which i didn't like!

paper-thin walls weak air conditioning
the breakfast was decent. they had a reasonable selection of pastries and fruits.
The noise was a real problem. i could hear everything from the surrounding souk all night. It was like the walls were paper-thin. the constant chatter and activity made it hard to relax. also, the air conditioning in the room was weak, especially given the heat. I found it difficult to get comfortable.

a mixed experience
unstable shower hose broken phone
the phone in the bathroom didn't function on most days. i reported this, but it never got fixed. the bedroom phone displayed the wrong room number and also did not work. i wanted to order room service but i could not place the order because of the phones problems.
