frozen scone slow service
the room was lovely and clean upon arrival and the breakfast was good.
the courtyard was very busy. i was hoping for a quiet morning coffee and a scone, but my scone arrived frozen in the middle. the service was slow and not especially friendly..

friendly staff local beers private garden
i enjoyed the food very much. the staff members were friendly and helpful. the bar offered a good selection of local beers and spirits (prices were reasonable). i liked having a private garden with my room in the paddock, it felt luxurious.
i noticed some scuffed paintwork throughout the hotel, it could use some touching up.

the room had a super comfy bed. the bathroom was great with excellent amenities. rooms are located in cottages behind the main building, these are suitable for visitors with dogs (which is useful to know).

the hotel restaurant has a good menu. cooking standards were high and service was excellent (the scallops and pork were great). breakfast was also good with fresh plentiful options. the architecture has classical features.

limited closet unwelcoming staff
The room was smaller than i anticipated, especially considering the price. closet space was really limited. I struggled to hang all my clothes. the staff seemed polite, but they weren't exactly warm or cute. i mean, a smile wouldn't hurt, would it?

The staff were helpful. I found added service touches, like a tray of fresh lemonade left outside my room. The bar has a good selection of drinks including cocktails.
Access to the rooms was not simple with heavy luggage. Carrying bags up to the rooms was an issue.
