dated room and penny-pinching policies

parking charge dated room
the staff were friendly, i suppose.
i had to pay extra to park in their nearly empty car park, a charge of £12 (seriously?). my room was dated with no outlook, the window was up against a stonewall, so the view was nonexistent. this hotel seems overly focused on squeezing every last penny out of its guests.

average stay due to room issues

the location proved convenient for exploring the surrounding area. it was close to many attractions.
The room i occupied was not satisfactory. It was next to the reception and the breakfast room. the window offered a view of air conditioning units at the neighboring hotel, rather than anything scenic.

The receptionist was helpful. The location cannot be faulted. Breakfast made a really good start to the day. It had attentive staff.
Paying for parking felt mean. I would not have to pay if I booked direct.

Wonderful Stay at this Hotel

short walk super view
The hotel location is superb, just a short walk to the lake and town center. Their own car park was useful. Breakfast had a good choice of food and was served at the table. Our front bedroom looked out over Derwent water and Catbells, the view was super.
The radiator in my room I couldn't switch it off. A receptionist came to look at it, but it was hot later. I was unsure why the central heating was on at this time of year. I was hot.
Rooms
9/10
My room had a fine lake view and mountain views. The room included a comfortable bed and modern decor. It was a very clean space and I was grateful for the daily cleaning service.
Dining
10/10
The breakfast included a variety of options and I found something I liked. The free-range eggs was delicious and fresh. The staff provided table service, ensuring I had everything I needed for a good start to the day.
Facilities
9/10
The hotel offers free parking if you book direct and I found it very helpful. The location is near the lake and town center. I appreciate the ease of access to local attractions and services.
