A mixed experience with some issues

the staff was friendly and helpful . i especially appreciated the little touches in my room. the food for dinner and breakfast was also really nice. i liked the lady who served me, she was very nice.
the room was smaller than expected. it was not as nice as i hoped. the wait to order a drink took about fifteen minutes. it was a bit too long. it wasn't a great experience for me.

The Sunday lunch was AMAZING!!! I had a nutless roast and my partner enjoyed the Yorkshire pudding wrap. Portions were very generous, with lots of vegetables accompanying the roast. The service was quick, attentive, and the staff seemed happy to help.
The stairs smelled faintly of grease at times.

the staff are super friendly and helpful. the room had a perfect window to the square. i loved the decoration on the door, it added to the experience. breakfast was good, with a really friendly waitress.
the room was good, clean and had good quality tea, biscuits and water. the bed was not very comfortable though. i could feel the springs in the mattress , made it hard to sleep.

Acceptable Stay with Disappointing Details

The fire alarm went off at 2:30 AM and there was confusion. Staff provided no information or apology. The Sunday market forced me to move my car before 7 AM to a distant car park, costing me extra money. I wasn't reimbursed for it, and carrying luggage that far was difficult.

the room was super clean and included tea, coffee, and biscuits (a nice touch, i thought). the temperature was also easy to adjust in the room, so it was simple to find the perfect setting. i booked dinner in the dining room on my first night, and it was so tasty i booked for night two as well. the beers were also well-kept, with the drovers best being a highlight.
The car park was away from the hotel. I found this slightly inconvenient. i needed to drop off luggage before parking.
