The staff were fabulous and helpful. I found the rooms to be clean, tidy and well equipped. Breakfast had a good choice. It was cooked exactly as I asked (eggs benedict!).

delicious coffeecomfortable bedenglish breakfast
i enjoyed the full english breakfast it had bacon, sausage, mushroom, toasted bread with butter, baked beans, and an egg. their coffee was delicious. they had jam, honey, cereal and orange juice. the bed was comfortable and provided two pairs of pillows.
the traffic noise was too much. i understand it's a town centre hotel. there was no warning given about conditions because of locality.

staff provided a warm welcome. i received good service throughout my stay. they were great.

the pub is well known. locals frequent it, and i did not feel out of place. i ate there both nights for convenience. the bacon sandwich for breakfast was delicious.

parking is not great, but the staff easily resolved it. the rooms were very comfy and tidy. there was a nice christmassy atmosphere. it is a tastefully renovated historic building.

the breakfast was ample. i had a delicious full english. the staff was helpful, they assisted with my luggage as i felt unsure on the stairs.
the mattress was quite firm. the room was a bit noisy because of doors closing downstairs, it became quieter later on. the pillows also felt hard.
