a romantic escape to remember
lovely grounds warm atmosphere special team
the grounds were lovely. i really enjoyed the surrounding walks. the fires created such a warm atmosphere after those long walks. the team.!!
i arrived early, two hours before check-in, on a rainy day, but i couldn't stay inside until 3pm. i had to wait in the car, a small inconvenience on an otherwise beautiful day.

The breakfast was very good. The staff were very attentive.
The room was comfortable although very tired and a bit grubby. I thought it was not worth what I paid. The decor seemed quite outdated.

an lovely retreat
dartmoor countryside master bedroom gourmet getaway flavor combination
the location allowed for exploring the dartmoor countryside. the master bedroom upgrade provided amazing garden views. the gourmet getaway package delivered fabulous meals. each course was thoroughly explained enhancing our appreciation of the flavor combinations.
the absence of a hotel tour was noticed despite it being announced by the receptionist

the hotel grounds feature an 18-hole putting green providing recreational options. there are gardens surrounding the hotel ideal for nature walks. i saw christmas decorations that looked tasteful with a festive feel.

i experienced an afternoon tea with food presented to a two michelin star standard. the three-course michelin-starred meal included generous extras enhancing the dining experience. newspaper and coffee arrived in the morning as a lovely touch.

Absolutely Fantastic Stay!
friendly staff car parking venison main
The staff were professional and friendly from start to finish! The service included car parking upon arrival. Dinner was superb, with a lobster starter and venison main. I shall definitely return!!!
I had a slight issue with the breakfast arrangement. Eating it off a low coffee table in the lounge was a little awkward. I think a higher table would have.

dinner pressure small starters
the staff were attentive.
i found the insistence on ordering more drinks during dinner quite off-putting.. it felt less like service and more like pressure, which detracted from the dining experience. the portions were also surprisingly small, especially the starters.

the grounds are wonderful and offer a perfect stroll through dartmoor countryside. our bedroom was fine, it catered to every need. the service was attentive, i highly recommend a visit.
the portions at lunch and dinner were meagre. i found the prices overpriced. the menus seemed uninteresting to me.
