charming stay in matlock

quirky atmosphere central location
I loved the quirky atmosphere and excellent breakfast. Sue and Neil, the hosts. The hotel's central location allowed easy access to Bakewell, Buxton and Ashbourne.. i found that very convenient.
there was no staff present in the hotel during the afternoon and evening, which left guests to manage entry and security themselves. I think a dedicated staff member available at all times would improve the experience.
Rooms

The room featured a luxurious, comfortable bed with high-quality bedding. A fantastic shower was present and extra tea and coffee were available in the hallway, very useful. The room decor included victorian style decor with subtle modern facilities.
Service

The staff were lovely, friendly, and knowledgeable about the local area.. they provided helpful recommendations. The breakfast service offered options like eggs benedict and a cooked breakfast, including croissants and toast. Attentiveness to guest needs stood out.
Location
9/10
The hotel's location offered private parking, a definite plus. The setting allowed easy trips to Bakewell, Buxton, and Ashbourne, which I found beneficial. The area had historical charm and character.
