The breakfast was sumptuous and cooked to order with high quality, local produce. The cooking was wonderful.
The light switch was broken at the entrance. The bathroom was shabby, not fit for a 4-star hotel. I had expected a far more satisfying experience, given the price.

The castle looms impressively as you approach it. it seemed like stepping into a childhood dream. Square towers evoked a sense of wonder! our castle view room was indeed regal. It featured a big, comfortable bed plus a spacious bathroom. the water pressure was good. Both the bath and shower worked well, quite powerful.
after the informative tour, i was directed to the founders' grave. sadly, it looked unkempt, with overgrown steps creating a potential hazard. restoration would greatly enhance the visitor experience.

The breakfast offered a good menu. Full english, porridge, yoghurts plus eggs were available. tea, coffee and fruit juices complemented the meal. waiter service, i must say.

our room was quite lovely, with a thoughtful teddy knight. the bathroom was ample. i found fresh towels, shampoo, conditioner. body soap supplied generously. the room was kept very clean throughout the stay.

The drawing room was a highlight. It had comfy seating and was full of history. i noted period decor and a window seat built into the wall, too. it proved a calm spot.

I appreciated the complimentary history tour. It was quite interesting. The breakfasts were also fabulous, and I enjoyed them. I found the staff very friendly and accommodating, and their service was really good.
The hotel could improve its coffee options. A Nespresso machine would be a great addition.

the staff were friendly and helpful throughout my stay. i particularly enjoyed the plentiful breakfast with many choices. the castle tour at 10:15 am offered great historical insights, guided by a very knowledgeable person.
I noticed the absence of a lift to all floors. Navigating the stairs might be difficult for some guests. although there is a service lift available, public lifts would improve accessibility. this is a detail worth considering for future improvements.

afternoon tea included a generous selection with prosecco, offering a good experience. the restaurant operates on the ground floor, easily accessible for all diners. the breakfast was substantial and freshly prepared, including one of the best full english breakfasts i've eaten!

the suite included a comfortable four-poster bed, bathrobes and slippers. the bathroom had both a large bath and a shower. sky tv provided entertainment and tea and coffee facilities were available. there was sufficient clothes storage for a lengthy visit.

peacocks on groundsreally good tourdelicious food
I appreciated the peacocks wandering around the grounds, they are good. The tour of the castle was really good, with a guide who gave a historic talk. The food was delicious. Dinner was particularly nice.
