i booked a room i thought would be luxurious i was wrong the pillows were thin the restaurant service was terrible it took four hours for a two course meal

patchy emulsionbuffet breakfast
the room did not meet expectations , especially considering the price. the decor felt incomplete , with patchy emulsion and textured wallpaper. there were also functional issues like a nasty pressed steel radiator and exposed plastic conduit for the tv cable , which detracted from the overall ambiance. a soulless buffet breakfast further diminished the experience , i hoped for something freshly cooked.

Really good Saturday Night Stay

We stayed one night. Our room was ready early. The receptionist was really LOVELY. The extra touches like the wine on arrival and the in-room tipple. The spa and outdoor pool were clean and warm. Someone served drinks by the pool, and he was very attentive and efficient.
I visited with my dogs. The rooms were lovely, and the setup for the dogs was great. they did not provide any form of sanitary product for emergencies.

The service was above expectations, from the warm reception to the attentive staff in the restaurant. I observed one member of staff taking the time to talk to some guests and even making an extra fuss of their dog, really nice to see.

I swam in the outside pool the afternoon we arrived and the following morning. It was fantastic. The pantry on every floor, with free snacks and drinks, was the highlight. The hotel provides wellies for walks, and supplies maps for each walk available to do.

The location IS set in wonderful countryside. The hotel is near Highclere house. It is also super for visiting Stonehenge and Oxford. I was also in Blenheim palace, where there was an exhibition about Churchill.

the location was quite beautiful. the staff consistently went the extra mile. the landscape was fine, I appreciated that.
I found the room somewhat hot. i was given a fan, this did not help much. the heavy room doors slam loudly. This became an issue. i was woken several times around 1:30-2am.

the staff were friendly (i have to give them that).
the room was not great. the balcony faced the car park, what a joke. there were also spider webs everywhere, i mean, come on.
