spacious roomcomfy bedattentive staff
the room was spacious. the bathroom was also quite spacious. the bed and pillows were really comfy. (i slept like a log) service in the bar was really good, staff were very attentive. there was just enough parking available.

the staff was friendly and professional. they welcomed everyone into a family rather than a hotel. nothing was too much trouble for them, they were always ready to assist with any request.

Sunday lunch was excellent, with just enough on the plate. breakfast had great vegan options. there was no vegan substitute for butter on the delicious toast. the hotel has a bar with a good selection of drinks.

the breakfast was very good with locally sourced ingredients.
The beds were excessively firm. It reminded me of sleeping on a plank of wood. i tried to alleviate this by sleeping on the carpeted floor, but even that offered minimal improvement. this lack of sleep significantly detracted from my overall experience.

The breakfast started later than I am used to. However all the staff were very friendly. They were also very helpful. I really appreciated this.
The cost of the room was more than expected. I also disliked the sharing style of the menu in the restaurant. It was not to my liking. I prefer traditional menus.
