I appreciated the hotel's central location. The king room overlooked the high street. I also enjoyed a meal on Sunday. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
The door handle to the room was taped. It fell off as I tried to lock the door. The room smelled moldy. The room was full of flies.

the location was indeed in the village centre.
Our room had a door handle taped on. It literally fell off. the door wouldn't lock properly either. the dampness and mouldy smell were very noticeable, and the carpet was stained. i felt that this fell far short of expectations.

enchanting getaway
excellent foodfriendly staffmouldy smell
I loved the excellent food. full english breakfast was as expected, a pure delight. evening meals were fantastic, with a wonderful atmosphere in the restaurant. the staff were very friendly. the hotel itself holds a lot of history. Photographs on the walls tell stories. it makes a real talking point and adds to the charm. located centrally, WALKING around was easy.
We booked a twin room. It was not made up properly. the door handle was taped on and fell off. the door didn't lock. the room was damp, smelled mouldy, had stains on the carpet, and holes in the walls. the room had many flies. for an apparent high standard hotel, this experience was shocking and very disappointing.

staff welcomed us very genuinely and were always ready to assist. no request seemed to be too much trouble for them. their genuine care. we felt well looked after .

the room was very comfortable. it had a good bed and a seating area. the bathroom was great, offering all necessary amenities. the room provided a relaxed setting after exploring the local area.
