lack of privacy noisy fan
The staff accommodated our request for an early breakfast (I needed caffeine as soon as possible). They opened the breakfast area 15 minutes ahead of schedule.
My room faced the courtyard and lacked privacy. People easily saw into the room from the courtyard and auction area. This noise made relaxing difficult (I needed to unwind!). The room was hot and a fan provided minimal relief.

modern bathroom delicious food unfriendly receptionist cobweb light
The room was comfortable and it had a modern bathroom. Dinner service took place in the courtyard. It was a lovely sun trap. Portion sizes were great and the food tasted delicious.
The receptionist seemed unfriendly upon arrival. There were cobwebs around all the lights in the room. This was not ideal considering the amount I paid.

reasonable stay
buffet selection clean table difficult parking loose slab
The breakfast had a good selection of buffet items. cooked items were also an excellent choice. all tables were very clean and the setting was attractive. We loved the attention to detail there.
On arrival, parking was difficult. there was an auction taking place at the hotel. the patio area needs maintenance. The slabs are loose and dangerous.

heavy door unfriendly receptionist
The hotel felt a bit dated. I had trouble with the bathroom door as it was heavy and hard to manage. The receptionist wasn't particularly cute. It affected my first impression of the place. I expected a warmer greeting after a long journey.

mixed feelings about my stay
noisy fans lack of sleep
The room i initially got had no windows. It was a very hot day. the staff did move me, however, the new room was right above the kitchen. there were loud extractor fans that vibrated the room, and i could barely sleep. the noise continued late into the night. I was very disappointed.

splendid stay at higham farm
fantastic food polite staff clean table
The food was FANTASTIC. Staff members are polite and friendly too. Breakfast selection included buffet style options and cooked items. All tables are very clean and create an attractive setting.
the room was old and the furniture look really aged. There are no cocktails at the bar either. I also thought the menu was limited. I wish they provided more options.

The restaurant offered a good selection of wines and beers at good prices. The fish and chips are amazing especially with the triple cooked chips. The service was very attentive and the staff members were happy.

The hotel has a lot of beams and plenty of character throughout. It has a 100ft well right in reception. The hotel features helpful staff and provides access to a restaurant, a bar, and a breakfast room for all guests.
