food quality quick service helpful locals damp smell poor cleaning dusty surfaces
I really enjoyed my evening meal. The food was cooked perfectly. The service was also quick and efficient. The location was great, and the bar locals offered helpful advice on things to do nearby.
I was surprised to settle my room bill right upon arrival. The way to my room had a damp smell. The room was not properly cleaned, and there was dust on surfaces.

a charming stay
warm reception open fire reasonable price
the bar features a lovely open fire, a nice touch. i particularly enjoyed the sunday lunch, it was very reasonably priced. i'm already planning my return visit (it's a promise!).
the entrance sign from the car park could be more prominent. we initially walked around to the front.

the room was very charming with a quirky bathroom. cleanliness was perfect and comfort was assured. i enjoyed a peaceful rest each night thanks to these features and the quiet surroundings.

the location provides easy access to scenic walks. there is a quiet atmosphere ideal for relaxation. i found plenty of convenient parking spaces available .

staff members were friendly and eager to help. chris, the manager, offered useful guidance and assistance when needed. one particular lady provided excellent service (nothing seemed too much trouble for her).

friendly staff locally sourced steep stairs damp signs
Staff were friendly and the room had all necessities. Breakfast was fabulous and locally sourced.
Pictures on the website does not reflect what I experienced. Access to room was via steep stairs and damp signs were overwhelming.

mixed feelings about this place.
the location was great. i liked how close it was to footpaths.
the room smelled strongly of dogs! there were numerous dog hairs. sadly, the fridge had spills and crumbs in it

the decor included sophisticated, tasteful, unusual touches. it complemented the venerable age of the building. the room felt gorgeous, aesthetically pleasing, a real pleasure. staff seemed friendly and helpful, appreciated.
i noticed the central heating in the cottage did not take long to fully warm on the coldest mornings.
