Nice Stay

traditional atmosphere friendly staff superb breakfast
I appreciated the quiet and traditional Cornish atmosphere.. the room was spacious. Staff was excellent and friendly. Nothing proved too much trouble. Breakfast included a superb Sunday roast, and the evening meals seemed worth the cost.
My room had a slightly damp smell.
Location

The location allows an easy walk to the beach within fifteen minutes. One should exercise caution on the roads, as pavements are absent. Parking is plentiful and conveniently located near the hotel.

unreliable wifi worn room
The WiFi situation was definitely a letdown. I needed it for planning my day trips, but it only worked reliably in the breakfast area. our room felt a bit worn. The bathroom door had some peeling paint, and the sofa wasn't comfortable. I expected more from a place with such good reviews.

the rooms were comfy and the surroundings were picturesque, it was fine.
the room had mold on the walls and a broken bed, it was pretty bad. dinner was also a let down. the tomato soup tasted like a tin of tomatoes with herbs, and the toad in the hole was just leftover yorkshire pudding with sausages.
