Wonderful Stay in a Beautiful Setting
friendly staff room upgrade excellent food
The staff was very friendly and helpful throughout my stay. The room upgrade was a pleasant surprise. The food for both breakfasts and dinners was excellent considering the price. I especially enjoyed the good range of non-alcoholic drinks offered in the garden.
The low sloping beams on the top floor made it difficult to move around without bumping my head at night.

The inn is set amid the Dartmoor hills.. a really special place for a getaway. Haytor Rocks are a short walk from the inn. Parking is available in front or behind the building.

Breakfast offers various options including salmon with scrambled eggs, or a full english. Dinner featured imaginative dishes with perfect tastes and combinations. The wine list is excellent, including a good selection of beers, craft ales, and ciders.

The staff allowed early access to my room. The welcome was lovely and professional. The staff were very polite and helpful.

The room featured lots of character and plenty of space. A lovely garden is situated opposite the inn, allowing guests to relax with a glass of wine or cider. The room was clean and quiet.

super experience
clean room friendly staff stocked garden
i find great details. the room was clean. the staff was friendly. i was happy to see such history in this location. the beer garden was well stocked with drinks. i really enjoyed the breakfast it was nice.
the stairs were steep. it made moving around a bit tricky. the parking situation was also tight. it was hard to find a space sometimes i think.

enchanting getaway
friendly team historic gem fresh yogurt compote convenient walks
I found the staff accommodating and friendly. Nothing was like too much trouble. the history of this gem is palpable, and i appreciated the attention to detail. the breakfast was plentiful. It gave a good choice and the freshly made yogurt compote stood out. i enjoyed walks around the woods located behind the inn.
Directions given by gps led to some very narrow country lanes. I suggest confirming the best route with the inn beforehand.

The staff helped with parking and luggage. I guess that was fine.
I had issues with the steep stairs. They were quite difficult to manage. It would have been better if there was more accessible access.

The food was delicious. The nut roast was great (i loved it!). There was also a good selection of local ales available. The staff members were polite, helpful, and friendly.

friendly staff delicious food great location cosy feel
The staff demonstrated friendliness. The food was delicious and featured good combinations. The hotel location is fabulous. One can walk up the road a few hundred meters to Dartmoor.
The breakfast music seemed a little unsuitable.
