Overrated stay. Expected more

maintained gardenscheap steelveneered chipboard
The gardens were quite well-kept. They seemed to care about that.
The room wasn't what i anticipated for the price. The woodwork was to be veneered chipboard. the staircase seemed cheaply updated with steel instead of a wooden balustrade! then, the bathrooms near reception were not well-kept.

The hotel seemed stuck in time. i noticed some outdated aspects. the promised nightly african music was absent, a real letdown! also, the bar closed quite early. It was basically dead after dinner. there were few nearby alternatives. drinks felt overpriced for what was available. This felt quite disappointing considering its supposed five-star rating.
