The public bath felt less exclusive. Many locals used it. This made relaxation difficult. The location was also isolated. i wish there were more dining options nearby.

i found the staff to be very helpful and kind. the public baths were wonderful and relaxing. the traditional japanese meals offered plenty of vegetables, which i appreciated, and the portions were more than generous, i enjoyed the cleanliness throughout the hotel.
The location felt a little out of the way. I noticed not much around the immediate vicinity.

the hotel is near a jr line, providing easy access to the city. some bus routes are only a 5-minute walk away. i also found a direct bus route to ginkaku-ji.

i adored the onsen it felt heavenly. the tatami style room. breakfast introduced us to authentic japanese cuisine i found unique.
the staff seemed cold i felt rushed. i felt uneasy asking questions. the hotel was in a laneway it didn't feel traditional. the restaurant staff didn't give attentiveness and the food lacked flavor.

I found the staff spoke English well, which helped a lot. The traditional Japanese meals featured plenty of vegetables. This was important for me. The onsen changes daily between men and women. It is clean! The outside bathing space is wonderful
