a somewhat underwhelming stay
outdated bathroombusy road
the room felt smaller than expected. the bathroom was a bit outdated, and taller guests might struggle with the shower height. there was no hair dryer in the room. also, the location next to a busy road meant sleeping with the window open was not ideal.

I really enjoyed the food. The portions were large. We ate lunch today and it was delicious. I had a lovely homemade steak and ale pie with lots of meat inside plus freshly cooked vegetables.
I found a small room. The bathroom was outdated.

the staff were friendly, and the location was ideal for exploring the derbyshire countryside..
the mattress in room 9 sloped to one side, so i couldn't get comfortable sleeping. when i mentioned this to reception, i learned that i was not the first to complain. carpets looked dirty around the skirting boards, suggesting the room needs updating.

The location proves convenient for nearby walks. The staff were friendly. Breakfast included multiple choices. The meals in the evening tasted quite good. I found the room to be of a good size and the bed was comfy..
The bedroom had a slight musty smell. I think the room needs an update.

the bar area was nice. it had lovely grounds, particularly useful as we had a dog with us. the food was excellent and tasty. it was full of flavour.
the bathroom sign said that water could take ten minutes to warm up. the tv remote was issued with the key. the place generally had the feel of the 1980's.

Staff were friendly and helpful. They did everything they could to assist. Breakfast was excellent with a good selection of options. Parking had good facilities.
The room was cold, I needed to ask for the radiator to be turned on. The room looked basic. There was some noise coming from the road near.
