fantastic city escape
excellent location warm welcome thoughtful gesture helpful staff
The location was superb. the staff, guillherme and iris, offered a warm welcome and were helpful. maria later helped find a place to buy a luggage lock on a sunday. joao provided a healing massage for an injured friend, which i felt was very thoughtful.
The room temperature in the beautiful room seemed off. Even after adjusting the thermostat, it felt colder than indicated.

The hotel has a spa, though it requires an extra fee for access. The cost is 15 euros for an hour. an additional 2.50 euros is charged for a swim cap, i thought that was reasonable.

the rooms are well-appointed and the suite i stayed in included a kitchen (very convenient). there is also an outdoor garden area, and it serves as a lovely escape from the urban activity just outside the hotel entrance.

the reception staff demonstrated great enthusiasm and attention to our needs. they were especially helpful when we arrived during the festival evening of st john and needed assistance locating a restaurant for dinner.

Acceptable stay in a central location
superb location upper part great view extra charge free massage hotel issue
The hotel has a superb location. I found many main sights within a short walk. My room was in the upper part of the hotel and it was quiet. I had a great view of the cathedral.
The receptionist, Maria, insisted on charging me for the massage at check out. She said it couldn't be complimentary as they never give free massages. The manager said it must have been a misunderstanding. I had to pay in the end, which ruined my stay.

The location proved excellent given its proximity to the historic district and the train station It allowed easy access to major sights.
I discovered I had to pay extra for the spa and pool. The charge was €15 for an hour. This detail was certainly a disappointing surprise given I have never encountered this before.

i found our beautiful double room city view to be impeccably clean. the views were fine, especially at sunset, a perfect backdrop for romantic moments. the location was very nice, a short walk to key attractions, so convenient for exploring together.
i thought the extra charge for spa access seemed a bit much, especially with other lovely amenities included.

great stay in a prime location
prime location quiet room great view
I appreciated the superb location. All main sights were within a short walk. my room in the upper part of the hotel was quiet. i admired the great view of the cathedral. the front desk helped me book my six bridges tour on the water.
upon check-in the receptionist informed me that i had a complimentary massage. later another receptionist told me that this was not the case. i tried explaining that her colleague confirmed this twice. however she kept saying that it must have been a misunderstanding but i had to pay.
