Romantic Getaway with River Views

spacious room comfy bed attentive staff
The Christmas decorations created a wonderful atmosphere in the lounge and reception area. We had a complimentary upgrade and the room was spacious. The super comfy bed ensured I had a great night's sleep, I felt so rested. The bar area had a nice vibe for drinks , the staff was attentive.
The towel rail in the bathroom didn't work , so the room felt quite cold and the towels didn't dry properly.

Decent Stay with Some Shortcomings

central location amazing staff fab sauna secondary building small bathroom missing towel
I found the location very central. I had easy access to shops and restaurants. The staff seemed professional and was prompt with requests. The pool and sauna area was also fab.
I was in a secondary building, not the main one. I had to go out to the street to reach the breakfast area. The room had no elevator and no towels in the room. I also found the bathroom was small.

Really good Staff and Great Location

river view accommodating staff shower bar great stay
I appreciated the river view from my room and how bright it was. The front desk staff met all my needs, they were accommodating. I think safety grab bars in the shower at waist height are important for elderly guests. I did find my stay fantastic overall, and hope they consider my suggestion.
Breakfast had plenty of choice, but everything cooked tasted bland. The bean to cup coffee machine saved the day. I ordered sandwiches for lunch one day, and because of that, only one day.
Service
9/10
Staff members work hard and the reception staff always go out of their way to help, very great location as well as beautiful rooms is present. The porters are hardworking and the staff ensures guests enjoy the hotel and all it has to offer.
Facilities
8/10
A swimming pool exist and is an unexpected hit, I wish I'd used the facilities from day one instead of our last check-out day. Tunnocks teacakes are at reception and are provided for all who pass by the front desk.
Rooms
9/10
The hotel gives free upgrade to a riverview room, so it has excellent refurbishment of the hotel and spa and friendly staff. Rooms overlook the river and are bright and sunny, giving a very positive feeling.

lovely swimming pool excellent jacuzzi good size steam room poor food slow service unpleasant sausages
the spa facilities were excellent. the swimming pool and jacuzzi were lovely. i appreciated the good size steam room and very hot sauna (it was just what i needed after a long day).
the food and service in the restaurant were a real disappointment. breakfast was especially frustrating. i waited around 30 minutes for toast and coffee. the buffet was limited, and the vegetarian sausages tasted unpleasant.
