acceptable stay overall
helpful directions garden view needed item single chair bedroom bathtub warm room
the staff gave helpful directions and recommendations. the room faced the gardens and it was quiet. i found everything i needed in the room.
there was a small table with only one chair. i did not need a bathtub, especially not in the bedroom. the radiator in the bathroom could not be switched off, so the room was very warm.

the hotel staff was friendly and efficient. i found plenty of toiletries in the room, a nice touch. the location was also convenient, near the railway station and gardens.
the room felt a bit small for the price.

really good experience
friendly receptionist ideal location all amenities
the room had all the amenities i needed. the receptionist was very polite and friendly, they gave me all the information i needed. the hotel location is ideal, a short walk into the centre is a plus. i will recommend jorvik house to anyone.
i found no hot water available for showering one morning. it took time and persuasion for this to be resolved. the lady on reception did not seem very keen to resolve the problem. i think more positivity would have helped matters.

the reception is open 24 hours, very convenient. the staff is helpful and professional, they answer questions about your stay. the hotel provides assistance with luggage, very appreciated. they also are very understanding with issues.

the room was spacious, clean, and cosy, i like it. it includes a comfortable bed with good-quality bedding and plenty of pillows. a fan and hot water bottle are available. the bathroom features a good-sized shower.

charming, if a little quirky
retro sweets great location helpful staff
the room had retro sweets, what a treat. the location put everything so close! the staff were very helpful, offered perfect recommendations for food and entertainment. they even gave me a tray with plates for my takeaway food.
the wall were not soundproof. i had someone above me walked back and forth for most of the night. it really did sound like people were in the room with me.

The in-room snacks and drinks provided a great variety! I found the staff helpful. They promptly addressed my questions. The hotel's quiet area with a nice garden provided a relaxing atmosphere. I will recommend this hotel.
The council car park nearby got busy, requiring a bit of a wait for a space.

mixed feelings about the stay
modern room fine facilities surprise card check lack of trust
the room was modern and the facilities seemed fine.
I didn't care for the surprise card check upon arrival. It was like they didn't trust me to not raid the minibar, and that's not a great way to start a stay.
