excellent bed well-designed shower slow service analog clock
the beds and linens were excellent. the bathroom had a very well-designed shower. i found the facility to be first class.
i found the breakfast service to be quite slow. they crammed everyone into one area with screaming children. the analog clock in my room was behind by 15 minutes.

fine stay but some hiccups
modern decor comfortable beds dog breakfast gender specific steam room splashing kids
the room had modern decor. the beds were comfortable. breakfast had plenty of choices, including a dog breakfast. i also got a welcome note with biscuits, chocolates, and wine.
i found some issues with the spa. the sauna and steam room are gender specific. i could not use them with my partner. the pool had kids splashing around, it was hard to relax in it.

Mixed Feelings About My Stay
slow service hidden charge
I encountered a few issues that detracted from my stay. The service in the Straits Kitchen was slow. My main course arrived significantly before the sides. The main issue was the 5% discretionary service charge added to the final bill (I was not informed about this beforehand). This felt unusual, especially considering the room rate already seemed comprehensive.

staff warmth wonderful decor restaurant service limited loungers extra breakfast cost odd situation
The staff showed such warmth. i felt very welcome from the front desk to the restaurant. the room decor felt wonderful. It really felt top class.
the pool lacked enough loungers for everyone. there were only five chairs instead of loungers, which seemed odd. also, ordering from the menu at breakfast cost extra, even though our stay included breakfast. i found this rather strange, it felt confusing.

the service was superb and the staff were lovely. my room had top notch amenities and i found the hotel centrally located. i appreciated the kindness shown by everyone i met .

the room included a king-size bed and a seating area with a sofa. i had a minibar stocked with a variety of drinks and snacks. blackout curtains ensured a dark room for restful sleep.

the hotel is near liverpool street station (i used the underground a lot!). plenty of shops and restaurants are also nearby. its location made exploring convenient.

embroidered washcloth activity bag soft toy
On arrival, I was greeted with a personalized embroidered washcloth. The hotel gave my little one an activity bag at check-in with a fun hotel adventure hunt. My toddler won a cute soft toy at check out, charmed!
I was very surprised to be told on check out that there was a 5% discretionary charge added to the bill. This isn't customer-friendly!
