underwhelming visit, some issues detected
comfortable bedcold bar areano heating
the bedroom was clean, it has an enormous comfortable bed.
the central heating radiators were off. the bar area felt cold. i sat with my coat on while i ate.

the room was spotlessly clean, i will give them that.
The service was slow at breakfast. I waited almost half an hour just to order. it seemed like they were severely understaffed that morning, and it really detracted from what should have been a relaxing start to the day. i suspect the kitchen had staffing issues too. also, the 'handcut' chips advertised with my steak were clearly frozen ones, a bit of a letdown and a little misleading.

the staff were really friendly. i loved that they provided biscuits in my room daily. my room was super clean and cozy.

The room included homemade shortbread, a very nice touch. I enjoyed the spacious room with comfortable chairs. The enormous comfortable bed provided a great night's sleep. The lavish breakfast featured a full English option.
The bar area seemed a little small when I visited.

Every member of staff was pleasant and helpful throughout my stay. Staff went beyond expectations. I appreciated the efficient and helpful service at dinner.
