mixed feelings about this place

fab locationdated furnituresauna room
the location was actually pretty fab, right where i needed to be.
honestly, the room was like stepping back into the 80s, not in a cool, retro way. the furniture looked dated, and the bathroom shower was more of a dribble than a proper shower. plus, i swear the room got hotter than a sauna, even with the window open, and no one seemed to care much when i mentioned it.

charming stay in a lovely location

friendly staffcomfortable bedwrong size
i found the reception staff very friendly and helpful . my room had a nice view overlooking the roofs towards the countryside. the bed was comfortable and the pillows were good, something i always worry about.
The noise insulation wasn't great. I could hear people walking in the room above. also, the loo seat did not fit correctly. It seemed to be the wrong size.

The room included tea and coffee making facilities and biscuits. the linen was clean and fresh, with ample toiletries provided. rooms feature large windows. Some have slightly faded furnishings. everything was in good working order.
Service
9/10
the staff were polite, particularly talulah, who prepared my room to a high standard. before my stay, the staff contacted me to check on accessibility needs. they also confirmed parking details. all queries were handled with care and efficiency.
Facilities
8/10
wifi is available, so guests can stay connected throughout their stay. the hotel is outside the clean air zone, so there is a saving of £18. there are seven parking spaces in the front road, costing £9 overnight.
