the room was very clean, spacious, and comfortable. the bathroom was immaculate. the restaurant provided perfect dining, and the food stood out with its quality. i found the staff to be really helpful and happy .

underwhelming breakfast
unwelcoming staff disappointing breakfast
The room was clean and hygienic.
Breakfast was REALLY disappointing. I had the 'full English' and it included only ONE sausage. The staff during breakfast seemed like they didn't care. There were no smiles.

dated room dirty railings
the food in the restaurant was acceptable.
the room felt dated. i found the paintwork in the common areas scratched and dirty. the outdoor railings also looked dirty and mouldy. this did not meet the standard i expected.

The ground floor room offered outside seating. Breakfast and the evening meal were VERY good. Excellent service complemented a good ambiance.
The taps in the sink dripped. I could hear them in the bedroom.

underwhelming stay
musty smell poor soundproofing
The room had a distinct musty smell , and the decor felt quite outdated. i found some stains on the carpet , which wasn't very appealing. also , the soundproofing was poor . I could hear conversations and noise from neighboring rooms quite clearly. this made it difficult to relax and get a good night's sleep.

helpful staff thoughtful extras
The staff was friendly and helpful. The room included several drink options and thoughtful extras. I was pleased with the comfortable room and available amenities. I found the breakfast excellent with many options.
The outside steps to my room were steep. I found them slippery due to puddles. I would have preferred a ground floor room.

The rooms had beautiful decoration with attention to detail. the bed linen was fresh. It felt clean and plumped. the staff was helpful and offered to deliver my meal to my room (when the pub and restaurant was full).
i noticed some cobwebs in the room, and the door mechanism made quite a bit of noise as other guests came and went.
