i booked a valentine's package and received a suite upgrade upon arrival. a homemade blondie was also offered. the room included champagne and chocolates. i found tunnocks wafers, tissues, and molton brown products. fluffy towels, bathrobes, slippers, and an iron with ironing board were available.
i waited over 20 minutes before being asked about drinks during my evening meal. the fillet steak, costing £39, was served on a potato base without other vegetables. more staff and training may enhance overall service.

The staff were indeed friendly and efficient. The room was very clean! I appreciated the Molton Brown shower gel. I also left some clothes in the wardrobe. The hotel was very helpful in posting them back to me.
The room had an aircon that sounded like a jet engine. I was dining in the brasserie and noticed sulky behavior from the waiter. I asked for a table away from the kitchen door. Thankfully the manager accommodated me.

My husband brought me here for a birthday afternoon tea. it was one of the best we have had in a long time. he had the yorkshire savoury afternoon tea. It was huge. it was perfect for someone who does not have a sweet tooth. the pork pie was a particular highlight. It was fresh and still warm from the oven.
i did find that every time i went to the bar, the price of the same drink increased. the chairs in the main areas could use a deep clean. most of the carpeted areas could also use a deep clean.
