easy parkingnice walk
i enjoyed the easy on-site parking. the area around the hotel felt quiet and peaceful. i found the location interesting as it is adjacent to a local rowing lake. a nice walk alongside the lake leads down to the river at orton lock.

underwhelming stay with some issues
dated roompoor soundproofing
The room felt a bit tired. the bathroom had been updated, but the rest seemed dated. a lamp near the bed didn't work, it was a minor fix. i didn't see staff at reception often, maybe because the building is old. soundproofing was poor. I heard doors slamming and conversations from other rooms. it made sleep difficult, even with a comfy bed.

i found the staff ordered taxi for me. the twin room was comfortable. ensuite had a bath, it was really nice.
some elution sounds from rooms was audible overnight.
