the building's public areas featured tasteful decoration. everything was spotlessly clean and created a relaxing environment. the bedroom was gorgeous. the radio played classical music upon arrival, a welcome detail.

i found the customer service from the ladies in the cafe area shocking. i was scared to ask for sauce or mention lukewarm drinks for fear of being shouted at.

breakfast offered an excellent selection with a very attentive lady serving. i saw a good offering on the continental table with fruit salad, cereals, berry compote toast and preserves. dinner was ok, but i ate a second night at a nearby pub.

the bedroom had sumptuous heavy curtains that were perfect. i was impressed with the books, a radio, and games provided in the room. the bathroom had a marvelous mirror that was lit and adjustable. pillow spray of lavender and chamomile added a good touch.

the building itself is lovely, but the service was lacking. i went for coffee and cake, but i felt invisible. we were told someone would come to us, but they didnt. after waiting, i had to ask for the table to be cleaned, but it still wasn't wiped. it reminded me of the staff was poorly managed and not trained well enough, it was very frustrating.

I stayed in a beautiful historic room. Its quality and fittings impressed me. The room offered an amazing ambiance. The size and quality of the bed helped me sleep very well. All meeting rooms are designed for comfort. They are fitted out with grace and style.

I noticed a little road noise in my room, but I generally slept well

The location WAS great. The building has character, I give it THAT. My room, a beautiful double room, felt overcrowded though. There were so many table lamps, a settee, AND a chair, I COULDN'T find space for my things. The shower pressure was WEAK. The mattress was too firm for MY liking. I also waited at the bar for what was like an eternity, and several staff members just ignored me.

The hotel was very well-appointed and located in the main part of town. Parking was available, though limited.

The dinner was below what i expected. I had reserved a table, but the staff seemed more interested in talking to each other than assisting guests. bizarrely, a staff member asked if we wanted chunky or thin chips when we hadn't even ordered any. while my meal was ok, my wife's meal was quite poor. to top it off, the staff added a 10% service charge themselves!!!

My well chosen things. It was a nice size for a couple. The bathroom was spacious and equipped with a good shower.

The duty manager seemed stressed upon my arrival. They said good morning, however it was 5pm. The parking is limited and not straightforward to access.
