Was so nice!
wonderful staff great food
The room was superb.. Carthusian! Food is beyond superb. Stacey served us, a wonderful staff member. All the staff are great and very attentive without being intrusive. I definitely recommend this place as well as other Butcombe inns I stayed in.

The hotel is near a bus stop. Buses run to Bath in about 20 minutes. The surrounding area offers views. Getting around can be tricky because of narrow pavements.
Dining

The restaurant features a new menu with bread for starters and trout, leek, and haddock pie as a main course. Somerset apple pudding is available for dessert. Staff are great.
Facilities

The hotel includes a cozy open fire that provides a secluded atmosphere. A recent refurbishment enhances the historical features of the building. There is a patio for use during the summer months. Rooms are decorated with thoughtful touches.

Underwhelming stay. Expected more.
cramped room parking mess
the parking situation was a mess. i returned after a day trip to find no available spaces and streets too narrow to park safely. also, the 'superior queen room monmouth george inn' i booked felt cramped. the advertised square footage must include the hallway, because the actual living space was smaller than expected.
