dark wood furniture
Our room was large enough , but the dark wood furniture was nice. The electric lighting did not help matters either. The bathroom had a sign warning against flushing the toilet while emptying the bath , and that seemed ominous.

the hotel location was really convenient. gardens were beautiful with lots of wildlife. secure parking was available to us.
the shower head was too high and i could not adjust it. the windows are old and were hard to open. the path to the carpark wasnt lit well, so walking was unsafe.

mixed feelings about my stay

rat droppingsexpensive room
i was initially pleased with the building and the location, however, some issues dampened my experience. the room i had was quite expensive for what it offered. i found rat droppings in the bathroom one morning, certainly not pleasant to discover (it really put me off).

the breakfast was ordinary. the heating system proved inadequate. it barely warmed the room, even after staff intervention. the bathroom was small. the television was mounted on the wall using an extension lead, which seemed a bit unprofessional.

Wonderful Stay!

friendly staffdelicious breakfastdark furniture
The staff were so friendly! Breakfast included lots of choice and the food tasted very good. The hotel bar was quaint. I enjoyed relaxing there. There were many lounge areas and the entire hotel was clean and appealing. I will come back. I found parking at the hotel. This is a real bonus. The room size was very nice, comfortable, and suited the building.
My room had dark wood furniture , made it quite dark. The lighting was not adequate. The shower had a wrap-around curtain and that was not acceptable.
Rooms
8/10
The room featured a comfortable bed and antique furniture. It included a television with multiple channels and a small seating area near the window. The bathroom had complimentary toiletries and a powerful shower with consistent hot water.
Facilities
9/10
The hotel offered a spacious car park behind the building for convenient guest use. It also featured a cozy bar with a selection of local ales and spirits. A breakfast buffet was available each morning, with options for both hot and cold meals.
Service
10/10
The reception staff was available 24 hours a day and answered questions promptly. The housekeeping service maintained a high standard of cleanliness, with rooms cleaned daily. Staff were helpful with directions and recommendations for local dining.

The location is central. It provides easy access to the beach and shops. The hotel features a secure parking. I appreciated the beautiful garden, it was full of wildlife.
My room felt shabby. The bathroom looked disgraceful. I thought breakfast was awful one day. I consider it overpriced.
