a slightly underwhelming stay

broken log burnerincorrect breakfast
I encountered a few issues. the bar area was uncomfortably warm and smelled strongly of fumes. A log burner lacked a glass cover. the fumes made us cough. Our clothes smelled of smoke. this poses a significant health and safety concern. also, my breakfast order was incorrect. i had requested changes to two items, but three standard items were missing from the menu. the server offered a half-hearted apology. She implied it was my fault because i had made so many changes.

Mixed experience with some shortcomings

bathroom uncleanedexpensive chips
I found the bathroom cleanliness lacking, specifically noting black hairs in the bath (which i find unacceptable) and visible water marks on the shower glass. the charge for a bowl of chips and a pint seemed quite high at £10.50. i was also early for check-in, arriving five minutes before the designated time. The room should have been properly prepared despite that.

Reasonable stay with some drawbacks

good size roomgood facilitiessoft bednice towelsaverage mealovercooked porksoggy cabbage
My room was a good size with proper facilities. The bed was soft and the room remain nice and warm at all times. The bathroom have good size, and includes a bath and shower with nice towels.
The evening meal I had were very average. The chef needs improvement with overcooked pork and also with the fish and soggy cabbage. My meal includes boiled new potatoes when it should have been sauté.
