i was looking for an overnight relaxing stay , and it provided exactly what i needed. our room was a good size and very comfortable. the hotel is steeped in history, with the building dating back to the 15th century.

The historic bar was full of character.
The dinner service was slow. I was like the staff couldn't keep up when it got busy, and in-house guests seemed less of a priority than weddings and check-ins. The food was good, but the wait times took away from the experience.

The spa was relaxing. The pool and jacuzzi were highlights for me. the hotel provides robes, flip flops, and towels for spa use, this made it easy to transition from my room. i appreciated the toiletries provided, including body wash, shampoo, and conditioner.
The sauna was temporarily out of order. This was a small disappointment .

the receptionist provided a warm welcome and escorted us to our room.
the service at breakfast was not good during my first morning. i wasn't greeted upon arrival or shown to a table. it took a while and my breakfast got cold by the time toast was available.
