the room was great, especially the spacious layout of the feature double room.
check-in was not smooth, the room numbers had been mixed up, causing confusion and delay, this made the start of my stay frustrating.

the room was spacious enough for my needs during my short stay
upon arrival the check-in process felt disorganized no one seemed to know i was coming i stood at the desk for a good five minutes before anyone acknowledged me it was not exactly the smooth start i was hoping for

The staff were helpful. The location made it easy to walk around. I found the parking area convenient (i didn't expect to find one in such a central position).
The breakfast was a bit disappointing. The bacon was very dry and tasted like it had been sitting on the hotplate. I think the drains from the wash basin emitted an unpleasant smell. I noticed the taps were stiff.

we had a large room overlooking st mary's church. very comfortable beds were present. the hotel sits close to the town centre, yet it is still very quiet.
I booked a small double room for one night, it was super clean and cozy with all amenities. the dark green walls made it somewhat claustrophobic. one reading light did not work, and every flat surface was cluttered with tea- and coffee-making equipment. Glasses. A dish for hair straighteners (!). And a hamper of pay-for snacks, leaving little room for my own belongings.

The room was unbelievably cold upon arrival. despite informing reception and receiving a supplemental heater, the temperature remained uncomfortably low for hours. the breakfast also disappointed. My poached eggs arrived overcooked and solid!!! the staff's response to these issues felt dismissive, stating they would 'pass the comments on'.
