historic elegance
japanese toilet mtr station good location
our room offered a japanese toilet that was very modern. the mtr station was conveniently located. i found nearby access to boat quay and maxwell food centre very useful. the room was very nice.
the lobby was surprisingly crowded resembling a bus stop. i found it difficult to interact with staff due to the hotel's busyness. there were no comfy sofas available to relax. it felt impersonal.

the pillows felt fluffy and comfortable. staff were efficient, especially kate and joe's team, and they responded promptly to all our requests. i felt well taken care of by the hotel team

bright color spacious room dodgy thermostat missing mirror
the room color was bright the room was clean. i loved the spaciousness of the room it allowed me to relax and feel at ease.
i found the air-conditioning thermostat a bit dodgy it felt warmer than the set temperature. there was no shaving mirror or makeup mirror and it was a small inconvenience for me.

inconsistent service preferential treatment
The Nespresso machine in the room was certainly a plus. The helpful concierge also made things easier.
I found the service inconsistent. Some staff seemed attentive, but others did not. I also noticed Anglo and Caucasian guests received preferential treatment at the Strait Club lounge, something unacceptable.

lack of space tired hotel
The location was good. The facilities were acceptable, but nothing special.
I found the lack of space in the room disappointing. There wasn't a comfortable chair, and the bathroom needed a magnifying mirror. The public areas seemed tired. It felt more like a four-star hotel than a five-star one, if I am being honest.

comfortable bedding convenient location
I appreciated the hotel's location near the merlion statue. It made sightseeing very convenient. the quay room was spacious, and it featured comfortable bedding that ensured restful nights, which i needed after my long days. i enjoyed having the robe ready. breakfast was rich in options.
the main lobby had a slightly high level of foot traffic at peak times.

cultural cuisines great location
I stayed in the quay room and enjoyed the location near amenities. The restaurant offered a diverse range of cultural cuisines. I found the food excellent.
The price range IS high, but I was convinced with their services and facilities.

excellent straits club experience
comfortable room well-appointed room luxurious bed premium products
the room was well-appointed and comfortable. i found the bed provided a good night's sleep (it felt very luxurious). the bathroom had premium products, i liked relaxing there each evening in the bath.
i found the selection of fruit at breakfast to be quite average. i expected more exotic fruits given the hotel's reputation. the fruit selection included no mango.

the staff were friendly and helpful. liyana, christine, tiara, jen, ambi, krisch, and zep provided excellent service. their professionalism made me want to return.

the hotel offers a fantastic swimming pool. i also found the gym well-equipped. the straits club provided a great selection during breakfast and evening cocktails.
