the staff was excellent and VERY helpful. the breakfast I had was also good. the room had a motion-sensor light, so I don't need to blind myself AT night.
the dark green walls make the room look smaller THAN it is. the hand basin IS too small, and the water doesn't run away well. THERE were also issues with 'trundling' noises waking me in the early hours.

the food was good in the two meals i had at the hotel. the beds were comfortable, and the shower was good too.
the room was very expensive. the decor is a bit tired, and it felt less luxurious than the price suggested. very early on saturday morning, loud music came from downstairs. this interrupted my sleep.

Breakfast had many buffet choices and cooked-to-order options. The bedroom was large and beautifully presented. The bathroom was also large with a great shower. I found the period interiors lovely. The bar had a great atmosphere.
The restaurant menu felt a little restricted for me. There was only one vegetarian main course offered when I booked. The room was very expensive. It was not as luxurious as the price suggested, I thought.
