a decent hotel stay
helpful staff good breakfast motion-sensor light dark walls small basin trundling noises
the staff was excellent and VERY helpful. the breakfast I had was also good. the room had a motion-sensor light, so I don't need to blind myself AT night.
the dark green walls make the room look smaller THAN it is. the hand basin IS too small, and the water doesn't run away well. THERE were also issues with 'trundling' noises waking me in the early hours.

the breakfast featured freshly prepared items. the chef accommodated my early start which was very nice. receptionists offered helpful service and were very friendly. my room overlooked the street and had effective double glazing (i didn't notice any noise).
i found a slight delay in getting a response to my query regarding minibar charges.

expensive room loud music
the food was good in the two meals i had at the hotel. the beds were comfortable, and the shower was good too.
the room was very expensive. the decor is a bit tired, and it felt less luxurious than the price suggested. very early on saturday morning, loud music came from downstairs. this interrupted my sleep.

Breakfast had many buffet choices and cooked-to-order options. The bedroom was large and beautifully presented. The bathroom was also large with a great shower. I found the period interiors lovely. The bar had a great atmosphere.
The restaurant menu felt a little restricted for me. There was only one vegetarian main course offered when I booked. The room was very expensive. It was not as luxurious as the price suggested, I thought.

fresh breakfast helpful receptionist early start ironing board
i found the receptionists helpful. breakfast tasted delicious.. it was freshly prepared to order. the chef accommodated my early start, which i very much appreciated. the staff delivered an ironing board and iron to my room quickly.
i noticed the lights in the room were not ideal for working.
