a pleasant stay
river view friendly staff slow service hard butter
the hotel sits right by the river (it's so peaceful!) and the gardens are lovely. the hotel served great breakfast and i found the staff very friendly and professional.
the service felt a bit slow on one afternoon. i also noticed that the butter provided with the scones was too cold and hard to spread.

easy parking beautiful gardens overall cleanliness
I found easy parking in the hotel car park. the reception was warm and cute. the gardens were beautiful. I spent time relaxing on the terrace. i greatly appreciated the peaceful setting and the overall cleanliness throughout my visit.
I noticed slow service during one of the meals. The waiting times between courses were lengthy.

I really enjoyed the festive lunch. I must compliment the chef. fresh, locally sourced ingredients were used. the presentation was amazing and enhanced the experience, i had a very special lunch.

The room offered tea and coffee, it had fresh milk. daily replenishment of fresh fruit was a nice touch. the room was tastefully decorated, offering a relaxing environment. I was grateful.

The grounds offered easy access to the river. there were comfortable seating areas both inside and out. the hotel provides paddle board facilities. Next time i will use them.

my "classic double room" included a coffee maker. fresh milk was available. the room had daily fresh fruit, which i appreciated.
The car park got full since external visitors also used it. I had to wait for a spot.

i really enjoyed the beautiful setting of the hotel. the gardens were gorgeous. i thought the overall ambiance was so calming.
the service felt a little slow. i think they may have been short-staffed, though the staff i encountered were good. it took a while before someone poured my wine, which i found surprising!

fresh sandwiches warm scones generous portions polite staff
the afternoon tea was a highlight. the finger sandwiches were fresh and tasty. plain and fruit scones came nicely warm with generous portions of delicious strawberry jam. our waiting staff was courteous and acknowledged our celebration.
the gardens were not well signposted from the hotel. it made navigation slightly inconvenient.

the location is adjacent to the river frome. the hotel features a fine inglenook fireplace as part of the original building. guests can relax on the terrace after walking the gardens.

the reception provided a warm welcome. staff took pride in the quality and ingredients presented on the plate. the chef was accommodating and added a vegetarian starter to the menu, just for us.

My Classic Double Room featured lovely decor. I found the bed very comfortable, which ensured restful nights. The hotel provided fresh milk and fruit daily in the room, a good touch.
The hotel car park was full upon arrival, also later due to external visitors. This made parking a bit difficult.

The hotel boasts an very nice setting with gardens overlooking the river. It has easy access to the surrounding areas (I enjoyed exploring the nearby riverside paths).
