The arrival greeting was great! I was upgraded to a grand view room with a balcony. It had views of the entire river. The restaurant provided a delicious breakfast every morning. I loved it. The downstairs bar areas were perfect. I could sit outside with wine and watch the riverbank until late at night.

The room had two large windows on balconies with river views. The room was very functional. Staff helped us get train tickets. The lobby is lovely and there is one step onto the Ribeira.
The location is in a historically protected area. Cars are not allowed. Getting to the hotel with luggage was a hassle.

Breakfast was excellent and included Port and bubbles. Staff quickly assisted guests and helped with luggage. The hotel offers a wine room with amazing water views and pleasant respite.

the staff demonstrated very nice kindness and attentiveness throughout my stay. the complimentary breakfast buffet featured a wide variety of delicious options. i particularly appreciated the buttery cheese with matured beef ham. reasonable prices are available for very good wines.
my room overlooked a walkway. this resulted in a lack of privacy if i opened the curtains to see the view.

the breakfast included a good range of food choices. i especially liked the fresh seeded bread toast. gonçalo gave fantastic recommendations for port wines and the restaurant's atmosphere was lovely.

The hotel is right on the water. this provides amazing views over the river from rooms. the hotel's location is very close to the water taxi. This allows easy access to the gaia area across the river.
