i found the atmosphere to be very friendly. staff members were helpful. the complimentary sloe gin added a special touch. my room was spacious, comfortable, and meticulously clean. i found the shower to be efficient.
the room, while charming, allowed sound from next door. this made for moments of less privacy. i hope they consider adding soundproofing. this small change could enhance future stays.

The welcome was warm, friendly, AND professional. The room I stayed in was tastefully decorated. It was clean and bright. The bedding and towels felt luxurious (soft!). The waterfall shower had plenty of hot water. The supper and breakfast were tasty, especially the locally sourced ingredients. It made the meals even more special.
While my stay was mostly wonderful, the road nearby was quite noisy.

the beautiful king room was well designed and warm. i found the bed super comfy and appreciated the pheasant themed wallpaper. the shower room offered high quality products.
the frosted glass wall separating the bathroom from the bedroom caused some light disturbance at night. the room's single glazed sash window didn't block out road noise. i was disturbed at 6.30am by the reverse warning noise of the bin wagon.

i loved the warm welcome from the staff, they showed me to my good room! service continued with lovely drinks and a delicious meal in the restaurant. initially, i planned only one night, but i extended my stay to properly relish the experience.
The shower grouting looked a bit grubby. The bathroom bin had flaking pieces.

Charming Stay Near Highclere

I enjoyed the room very much (it was the 'Canter' room, by the way). The bed felt very comfortable and I liked the design with plantation shutters and interior decor. The shower area included a cleverly designed sliding door. the water temperature did not require adjustment. Having a wide screen TV added relaxation. The staff seemed friendly and efficient, particularly Max. He was helpful and quietly sensitive during a difficult time for my family. He handled a large, unexpected group with flexibility. I also appreciated the complimentary sloe gin. A nice touch that added to the stay.
I noticed a lack of biscuits in the room. Biscuits would have been nice with the hot drinks.

i found the room well done. there was complimentary gin. i had dinner and breakfast and both were excellent. the watermill theatre was a short walk away.
the bar shuts really early. i really wanted a pint after the show.
