An Really good Stay

idyllic locationhelpful gentlemandelicious breakfast
My daughter and I enjoyed the idyllic location. A helpful gentleman handled our luggage on arrival. Our room had beautiful appointments, and it was equipped well. The English breakfast was also delicious. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
But I wished the bar had outdoor seating. The terrace looked charming, even without service from the bar.
Rooms
9/10
The room included a spacious seating area and a large, well-lit desk for working. We had two separate sinks in the bathroom. It also had a rainfall shower, and the water pressure was consistent.

Satisfactory Stay at Historic Location

clean roomcomfortable pillowsvariety drinksslow servicelimited equipmenthigh price
My room, a Classic Double Room, was clean. The bed had comfortable pillows. The hotel bar offered a variety of drinks. I enjoyed trying a local gin. The public areas also felt excellent.
Breakfast service was somewhat slow. I had to ask for coffee twice. I also found that the gym had limited equipment. It lacked variety. The price seemed a little high for the experience overall.

Really good stay, a good weekend

attentive staffrelaxing spabeautiful groundslimited day beds
The attentive staff ensured a nice experience. The dog received plenty of affection. I had an amazing facial at the spa. I will return for another relaxing visit. The grounds are beautiful, offering SO MUCH space for walks. The ambience in the bar and restaurant was wonderful.
The limited number of day beds at the spa was a slight inconvenience. This meant securing a prime relaxation spot required some planning. I think more lounge options would enhance the experience. The treatment area felt somewhat crowded at times.
Dining
9/10
Afternoon tea included tasty sandwiches, cakes, and scones. Savory extras like sausage rolls added a special touch. There was a fantastic variety of teas. Alternative options catered to those preferring other drinks.
Facilities
9/10
The hotel included a large heated outdoor pool and a treatment spa. The Butler Pantry is a stylish feature, and offers much more than a standard mini bar. The hotel gardens provide direct access to the River Thames.

The spa therapist Amber took a great care of me. I had a wonderful time there!
I found a series of issues . I was ignored at check-in. A receptionist was dismissive, asking, 'What can I do for you? ' It reminded me of an inconvenience. The lack of attention really detracted from the experience.
