castle junior suite delicious breakfast friendly staff
i stayed in a castle junior suite. the room was enormous. the breakfast was delicious and the staff were very friendly. dinner was first class.
the castle is fine, but i found that the bedding had some hairs.

Mixed Feelings About My Stay
cold meal moldy fruit
I was disappointed by some aspects. The hot meal I ordered arrived cold. The fresh fruit included some pieces showing mold. These issues affected the overall experience and should be addressed for a hotel of this standard. The kitchen service needs improvements I think.

The breakfast included locally sourced produce. The menu displayed creativity. Staff members throughout the venue were helpful. The hotel layout was fabulous.
The hotel restaurant was not very close , requiring a short drive.

Excellent Stay in Refurbished Castle Hotel
friendly staff castle room good game pie wine price
The staff displayed friendliness. The castle room featured good space. Turn-down service provided chocolates (both milk and dark). Public rooms created a grown-up atmosphere. I found dinner good. The game pie stood out. Wine prices were sensible.
castle rooms lacked mini fridges (newer block rooms had them). breakfast happened in the newer building, requiring a short walk from the castle. i found these points worth noting.

Dinner is served in two restaurants, one styled as the Palm Court, named Foveran's. another, Trocadero's, which features live music and attracts non-residents from wednesday to sunday, so the atmosphere is livelier. Wine pricing seems sensible.

The castle room featured proper space to relax, not just sleep. The shower had a proper rain head and quality toiletries. a flannel was provided. (i found this helpful!). Castle rooms do not have mini fridges, but newer rooms do.

large room spacious bathtub clean environment
my castle large double room featured nice decorations suitable for the 17th-century building. the ensuite offered a bathtub of considerable size. the cleanliness was amazing.
The website was a bit misleading regarding the room location. The room was in a modern hotel, not directly attached to the castle itself.

The staff demonstrated attentive service, readily fulfilling reasonable requests. their confidence and personable approach significantly enhanced the overall hotel experience. They always were happy to chat without being intrusive. i felt very comfortable.

a stay with minor issues
onsite restaurant vegan accommodation tea facilities old rooms
the hotel sits right by a river, and this was nice. the onsite restaurant was both great and convenient. the quality of the food and care of preparation showed the restaurant strives to be best in class. vegan eaters find good accommodation since the restaurant accommodated our needs and made some wonderful dishes.
i booked a castle room. i called reception and someone arrived with a tray. i was charged £13 for this when checking out and i thought this was shocking since i paid £260 for the room. rooms seem very old, including the mattress, sofa and all.
