Underwhelming Stay, Restaurant Issues and Room Discomfort
watery curry blocked sink
My dinner was a real letdown. I ordered the spinach and chickpea coconut curry. It was watery. The rice was overcooked, almost rubbery. I also found whole star anise in the curry. The bathroom smelled of damp. The sink was blocked as well.

Excellent Stay Near the Forest
free parking warm welcome peaceful garden
I found parking very easy and free. The staff welcomed me warmly. They seemed efficient. The room faced the garden. I also enjoyed the well kept garden, a peaceful spot.
I noticed noise from the corridor and other rooms. The soundproofing could use some improvement. This affected sleep quality.

the location is wonderful for exploring. all the staff were friendly and helpful (nothing seemed too much trouble for them).
the room was warm and air conditioning was not available. the windows could only open a limited amount.

excellent service clean room perfect location lovely garden
Breakfast service impressed me. my room proved perfectly clean and i found the staff happy. the hotel location was perfect. it made exploring the surrounding area very easy. i found the garden lovely. The two-seater swings were great. the decor of the hotel aligned well with the area.
The bathroom plug was closed and would not open. That was slightly annoying.

the bed was quite comfortable in my room. tea and coffee facilities were available. i found the room clean and tidy. the room was also generously sized.

the hotel is centrally situated near the park. direct access to open fields is available. i spotted deer and many horses around the hotel. a variety of nearby activities are within walking distance.

a good choice of dinner menu items was offered. the food was of very good quality. breakfast included plenty of choice. the restaurant and bar area served faultless food.

The room felt a bit dated. It needs some updating. The bathroom door did not close properly which was a bit inconvenient. the red wine at dinner was not great.

a decent stay overall
quick check-in comfortable bed welcome note bland eggs staff shortage poor value
the check-in process was quick, thanks to a very pleasant lady at reception. room 204 had a really comfortable bed. i liked the classic fm radio that played as i entered the room, with a handwritten welcome note.
the breakfast eggs tasted bland, quite underwhelming. there seemed to be a shortage of staff during breakfast service. i felt it was not good value for money considering what was offered.

Decent Hotel, Some Issues
outdated room slow bar service
The room felt somewhat outdated and could benefit from an upgrade. I was also disappointed by the bar service. It was quite slow. Ordering drinks took longer than expected on multiple occasions. the noise from a wedding one evening was disruptive.
