Excellent Stay in Traditional Style

attentive staffconvenient locationjapanese design
The staff was attentive. They seem to anticipate needs. The location was convenient to many attractions. I found it easy to walk to Nishiki market. The provided yukata was a nice touch. I enjoyed the cultural experience. The room was clean and well-kept. I appreciated the traditional japanese design. The bed was comfortable. I slept well. The hotel also has a luggage service after check out. The hotel has a private hot bath. It only cost a small fee for forty minutes. I found it a great value. The hot bath was relaxing after a long day of walking. Reservation in advance is recommended.
The room was a bit small. This was a minor inconvenience.

modern appliancescultural hotspotsprivate bathadditional charge
the room was superb I felt falling back into time while enjoying the luxury of modern appliances. the staff were most helpful and ready to go the extra mile. buses, taxis and trains all transport you to the innumerable cultural hotspots within and outside the city.
i was surprised the hotel's 'ofuro' was a private bath rather than a traditional japanese onsen style bath and it was an additional charge to use this facility. based on this, i don't feel that it's a true ryokan.

The location was great. i also found the staff to be very helpful. they assisted me in forwarding luggage onto tokyo. Pierre was especially helpful. i did the sake tasting and tea tasting. That was a good introduction into these areas.
the pillow were super uncomfortable. the bidet water was cold. it was also kind of loud, though that's not really their fault. i could hear loud americans lol.
