lovely countryside retreat
thatched cottages excellent staff vegan sausages
I enjoyed the thatched cottages. they were beautiful. i found the staff excellent. They were friendly and knowledgable! the linen sheets felt wonderful, and i tasted the vegan sausages.
The menu could include more seafood options. It is close to the coast. a more adventurous menu would be welcome.

The room included its own terrace, perfect for enjoying the countryside views. it was immaculate and comfortable. I felt very relaxed. the recent updates in the inn were appreciated.

The breakfasts and dinners at the hotel were wonderful. The service staff in the dining room worked hard and were pleasant. The location is perfect. Walks to the beach and Beer Head are easily accessible..
The room allocated to me was quite small and did not seem well-cleaned. I noticed cobwebs and dust in certain areas. The curtain rail was broken and not professionally fixed to the wall. It was askew.

small room narrow space
i always heard good things about this place, but i was let down by the room. the room was really small for two persons. we struggled to move around our luggage and furniture. to get to the bathroom, we had to squeeze through a really narrow space.

The beds were very comfortable.
The room felt small. It seemed like a converted cupboard and that impacted our comfort. Reception staff mentioned it was one of their "small or cosy rooms".

The location is fantastic, a short walk leads to the beach. the room was very clean and well-decorated. the staff were very friendly and efficient. the food in the pub was delicious. I especially enjoyed the generous portions at breakfast.

there is parking available , and the landscaped gardens are well-kept. the restaurant offers good service and is located in a characteristic building. the hotel offers a cute cottage feel and adds to the outside space.

the room included soft down bedding and pillows. the mini bar was a welcome addition. the bathroom was modern. a dab radio was present in the room, i found that useful.

the accommodation is in a quiet village close to the beach. sidmouth and the surrounding area are accessible by car due to the location. the surrounding area provides great walking opportunities. the hotel is not far from the sea, offering walking possibilities.

amazing food and service!
braised beef excellent service happy kids
i don't often write reviews but i must. the staff was superb with us even with a large group. they found space for us and provided excellent service. the braised beef sun roast was soft. the kids and adults were very happy!
the parking was somewhat limited given the number of guests, so arriving early is definitely recommended.

the location sits down in the valley providing a nice stroll to the beach and coastal path. this makes it very convenient who enjoy outdoor activities and scenic walks in the area.
